chemical romance part 2
Apparently everyone is talking about this, and not only me and my friends,

just a brief literature review, in case you are interested in giving up on believing on the charming prince coming to rescue us on his golden carriage to then live happily ever after...

From the Espresso, in italian
From the TIME, in english

and I really like some parts of the Espresso's article, [sorry for the poor translation]
(starting of the second page)
" The problem is that nature has not provided the (concept of) couple life, has not placed in our brain those data necessary for the stability of complex societies based on familiar and indissoluble nucleus. "This is a modern problem in a modern world", Lucy Vincent replies: "In prehistory, life expectancy was 25 years, two people would meet to reproduce. They would have died soon, and there was no need to pose a problem such as creating a bond, friendship or common sharing between a man and a woman. The attraction is a trick to put together two people who are not programmed to stay together.
This is where the culture takes over and against nature."

(fourth paragraph)
"And jealousy? Is it a product of culture, is it needed for stability, or even in that field chemistry is everything? The neuroscientists explain us that even jealousy, primordial feeling, instinctive, atavistic, obeys to the laws of biology and men are actually those who suffer more (see the case Otello). "A man can fertilize many women, but will never be certain of their progeny," says Ms. Vincent: "Finding a faithful companion is vital from a biological point of view to ensure their offsprings. For a woman instead a temporary infidelity of the partner has no consequences. "

mmm.. interesting...

(to then end in the 3rd page)
"It remains a question: why a certain human being rather than another one can make us feel crazy for love? [...] "Scientists are divided," summarizes Vincent: "Some think that it is purely accidental: when you are in the age of reproduction you will be attracted by the first person who will return our signals of desire. Another school says that the mechanism is triggered based on precise criteria ". And here comes to mind Freud and the hidden memories : "We are sensitive to a person who transmits amorous signals similar to those released by our parents during our early childhood. We bring in ourselves a sort of imprint of love. And even the scent allows us to recognize people whose immune system is different from ours and then complementary. But these assumptions are not established, "says Vincent.
A mystery to be left to poets and psychoanalytical studies."

..oohhhmmmmm..

but if i have to be honest, i would rather it to be left to poets, and I'm way too naive to stop looking outside the window, searching for my charming prince to be there waiting for me.. somewhere.. well hidden... veeeeery well hidden.. to live happily ever after...

hugs everyone
chiara
